…or maybe it happened 20 years ago, but ladies, at some point we’re all going to hit 50 and even though our hearts and souls will remain the same, as the years go by we’ll see small differences that will make us sit up and think, ok what’s going on here?

For too long, aging has been wrapped in whispers. It’s even considered rude behavior to ask a woman’s age, but it shouldn’t be that way! We should be proud of the years we’ve spent on this earth, the experiences we’ve enjoyed, and the accomplishments we’ve had. We should shout our age to the rafters with pride, but society tells us to step aside, to step back, and to fade quietly into the background.

BUT I DIDN’T WANT TO.

As a matter of fact, I refused to and I think you should too.

Instead, I created this blog (it’s my first time doing something like this, so please bear with me) to talk, not just about aging, but AGING OUT LOUD—No Limits, No Apologies, No Regrets.  My goal was to put together something that changes what we always been told about growing older and to celebrate our lifestyles, increase our longevity, explore new adventures and strengthen family bonds!

Here’s how I look at it. Aging isn’t a loss, it’s a gain. For way too long, women have been conditioned to believe that aging means losing something. Losing beauty, losing relevance, losing purpose. But in reality, we gain wisdom, freedom and the confidence to say NO to things that drain us and YES to what excites us.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am, IN NO WAY, suggesting we try to turn back the clock or pretend we’re not getting older. No, it’s about owning every year, every experience, every lesson, and every damn wrinkle with confidence and joy.

So, with Aging Out Loud we’re going to tell a different story, that goes like this: We are not too old to start over! We are not too old to chase new dreams! We are not too old for adventure, passion, ambition, or reinvention!

In fact, we are more powerful than ever, so let’s wear our years like badges of honor, because let’s be honest, we’ve earned them.
